Cyberhawk, the Scottish aerial inspection and survey company, has launched iHawk, its cloud-based software platform. A Cyberhawk-SSE joint event was held in Glasgow on 28th May to formally launch the software within SSE with key note speakers Dave Gardner, SSE Director of Transmission and Craig Roberts, Cyberhawk’s CEO.

iHawk is an innovative, cloud-based software platform that enables Utility companies to intuitively access the valuable industrial asset inspection and land survey information captured by Cyberhawk’s fleet of remotely operated aerial vehicles (ROAV) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

SSE, the second largest utility in the UK and one of Cyberhawk’s main customers, has worked closely with Cyberhawk to develop the iHawk platform. SSE recently awarded Cyberhawk with a significant contract for powerline inspection. Cyberhawk has carried out thousands of powerline inspections and delivered more than 50 aerial land survey projects to SSE.

Cyberhawk’s CEO Craig Roberts said: “The joint launch is a major vote of confidence in Cyberhawk’s inspection technology and in our transmission expertise. As well as reducing the risks associated with working at height, our inspection solution enables us to deliver accurate, verified data to SSE Transmission in an easy-to-use software package created specifically for the utilities market. Having the asset-condition data at their fingertips enables SSE Transmission to optimally allocate their maintenance, repair and upgrade resources and we hope it will help them deliver increased value to their customers.
