Our founder Malcolm Connolly recently spoke to the Editor of Inside Unmanned Systems magazine to explain more about our UAV inspection of two PWR containment domes at American Electric Power's Cook Nuclear Plant.
This was the first time a drone had performed an inspection to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section XI code at a US nuclear facility.
AEP's David Aubrey said: "I have validated coverage and pictures of areas that were not flawed that I can refer back to in the future. That's invaluable. In the past, we only took a picture if we saw something of interest. We wouldn't take pictures of areas that had no indications, so it's a much more comprehensive inspection, as far as documentation goes, than we've ever had in the past."
