Cyberhawk and Shell present UAV aerial land surveying of refinery at ESRI Petroleum User Group 2013

03 Dec 2013

Cyberhawk's Survey Manager Stuart Thomas presented at the ESRI European Petroleum User Group 2013 conference last week alongside Shell. The presentation highlighted the innovative work we have completed for Shell using our fixed-wing and multi-rotor UAVs. Cyberhawk provided geo-referenced Orthophotos, Digital Elevation Models and Aerial Panoramic Imagery at 3 of Shell's UK Terminal sites. The presentation highlighted how the imagery was acquired using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (a “first” for Shell) and then integrated with existing GIS datasets. The main driver for acquiring this aerial data was to enhance Shell's emergency response capability by having highly detailed and up-to-date aerial imagery for their sites.

These projects underline Cyberhawk’s innovative use of UAVs within the Oil & Gas sector providing cutting edge survey and inspection data worldwide.
