Cyberhawk to feature on tonight’s STV news

04 Mar 2015

Cyberhawk will feature on the STV news at 6pm this evening as part of the Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) Technology Showcase in Aberdeen. The STV film crew took a liking to our ROAV (Remotely Operated Aerial Vehicle, sometimes known as a drone or UAV) and Cyberhawk’s reputation as the premier ROAV service provider to the UK oil and gas industry.

Cyberhawk’s Senior Pilot, Bruce Irving, and Operations Director, Chris Fleming, were able to give the STV film crew an onsite flight demonstration, discuss the Cyberhawk’s background and the huge cost, safety and time benefits of our ROAV service. STV also requested some of Cyberhawk’s images and footage of close visual and thermal inspection from numerous North Sea assets to the news segment.

Having created the ROAV industrial inspection market in 2008 and having completed the first ever onshore and offshore ROAV oil and gas inspections in the UK, Cyberhawk were invited to exhibit at the event by CENSIS and their sister Innovation Centre.  Cyberhawk’s Global Sales Manager, Patrick Saracco, was also invited to present a paper on “Remote Aerial Inspection Technology” in the Digital Monitoring, Robotics and Autonomous Systems Technical Session.

The IFT Technology Showcase, supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Department for Innovation and Business Skills (BIS) is both a conference and an exhibition. The aim of the event is to give researchers and technology developers the opportunity to hear authoritative presentations on carefully selected topics and be part of a crucial discussion about current technology challenges for the UKCS and internationally. With technology innovators, such as Cyberhawk, able to showcase their technology through a linked exhibition.

Tune into STV at 6pm tonight to see Cyberhawk at the ITF Technology Showcase.
