World leader in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) inspection and survey, Cyberhawk Innovations, has reported another impressive year in the international oil and gas sector.
Most recently, the company has secured a three year framework with Dubai Petroleum for UAV inspections across all of its offshore assets. The agreement, which has the option to renew on a yearly basis for two years, was awarded to Cyberhawk following the successful completion of work for Dubai Petroleum in 2015.
The Middle East continues to be a lucrative market for UAV inspection as interest and confidence in the technology grows. Cyberhawk has been instrumental in building this momentum, conducting the first UAV inspections in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Saudi Arabia and most recently, Qatar.
Chris Fleming, CEO at Cyberhawk said: “We have invested significant resources into the Middle East, not only to build our own business but also importantly, to raise awareness of the safety, cost and time benefits on offer for the region’s oil and gas industry.
“Our framework agreement with Dubai Petroleum is the first of its kind for the Middle East, an encouraging sign that UAV technology is being accepted and adopted in this region.”
Further international expansion in 2016 saw Cyberhawk launch an office in Houston, as a result of growing demand for skilled UAV operators who are not only able to capture high quality data, but also have experience in the engineering analysis and interpretation of that data.
The US expansion was supported by a funding injection of £2million from Clydesdale Bank in March, and since the office launch multiple projects have been completed in North America.
Further afield, the Cyberhawk team has also completed work in a number of new countries this year including Ghana, the Ivory Coast, Qatar and Australia.
In addition to growing its global footprint, Cyberhawk continues to invest in its range of services through technology research and development. The launch of an internal inspection offering for tanks, chimneys and confined spaces is one such development which has gained significant traction in 2016.
